대학 캠퍼스는 지식 전달만을 위한 공간이 되어선 안된다. 다양한 이들과 마주치고 연결될 기회를 지속적으로 제공함으로써 사람들이 학습 이상의 가치를 창출하도록 유도해야 한다. 이를 위해 우리는 사이트의 저층부 공간을 공공적인 프로그램으로 전환하고, 기존 캠퍼스의 흐름에 새로운 동선을 더해 사람들이 경험하는 캠퍼스의 범위를 확장하고자 한다.
A university campus should not be merely a space for knowledge transmission. It should actively foster opportunities for diverse individuals to encounter and connect, encouraging the creation of new values. To achieve this, we transform the lower levels of the site into public spaces with active programs and introduce new circulation flows to expand the campus experience beyond its existing patterns.
Master plan
우리에게 사이트인 은행길은 단순한 공대 사이의 길이 아니었다. 사람들의 이동량에 기반한 캠퍼스의 마스터플랜 상에서 은행길은 여러 플라자를 연결하며 캠퍼스의 흐름을 형성하는 중요한 축이었다.
For us, Ginko corridor, the site of our project, was more than just a passage between engineering buildings. Based on an analysis of the campus master plan considering pedestrian flow, Eunhaenggil served as a crucial axis that connected various plazas and shaped the movement within the campus.
Analysis
기존 1공대와 2공대의 저층부에는 공공적인 프로그램이 매우 부족했다. 사람들을 연결하는 캠퍼스를 만들기 위해서 공대의 저층부를 공공적인 공간으로 전환해야 했다.
The lower levels of Engineering Buildings 1 and 2 lacked sufficient public programs. To create a campus that fosters connections between people, it was necessary to transform these lower levels into public spaces.
